Community Involvement

Having been a resident of Eagan since 1989, I have had many opportunities to be involved in the community.  Below are a few of my favorite organizations:

Easter Lutheran Church Our mission is to grow in faith and carry on the work of Jesus Christ. Easter Lutheran strives to blur the lines between church and community.

Red Pine Elementary School is a K-5 school located in the southeast corner of Eagan, Minnesota and is part of School District 196. Red Pine has been open since 1995 and serves the cities of Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Rosemount and Coates. Red Pine is a MESPA Minnesota School of Excellence recognized for excellence in leadership, visionary programming, student performance, school culture, staff development, the use of data for school improvement and community engagement. One visit to Red Pine and you will be overwhelmed by the positive energy of everyone in the school community. Red Pine’s reputation as a welcoming, safe environment is known throughout the community. The Red Pine staff is dedicated to help every child grow academically and socially to their full extent.

The Open Door—with the support of the community—is able to assist thousands of local individuals each month through a variety of programs designed to connect those in need with fresh, nutritious options:

Healthy food support at our Pantry, 12 Mobile Pantry® sites, and The Mobile Lunch Box, provided to almost 5,000 individuals each month.
Family Advocacy/Community resource referrals link families to critical, stabilizing services at social service agencies.
Garden To Table® program: 200 community garden plots, orchards, and perennial gardens, allows families to grow the food their family needs, free of charge.

Feed My Starving Children® is a Christian non-profit committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and we ship these meals to distribution partners around the world.

The Eagan Kick-Start Rotary Club is simply 25+ business, professional, civic and community leaders who share a commitment to:
 – get involved in our community
 – connect with other community leaders
 – share our time and experience with young people
 – support global causes like eradicating polio and providing access to clean water sources
 – donate our time and talents to help others

Join us, and together we will be the change we wish to see in the world.
